Guide to Hiring Plan

Requisitions created with the Hiring Plan will hold details and notes about a specific job. Store information like salary, the name of the hiring decision-maker, the reason for hiring, and more.

Coworkers can create requisitions when they need to hire. The requisition details will be reviewed and approved by hand-picked account members.

Hired candidates will be associated with requisitions, and you can view reports to understand which goals you've achieved and perform forecasting for your hiring budget.

This guide will show you the recommended workflow for implementing and using the Hiring Plan in your account. 

Implementation steps

Step 1: Before you get started

To ensure a smooth implementation of the Hiring Plan, it's best to complete the necessary prerequisites beforehand.

Add your Departments	Set up your departments (if you haven't already) ▶︎ Managing departments
Assign members to specific departments/ locations	It’s important to assign members who will be involved in the requisition process to specific departments/locations with the correct permission. Step 2: Hiring Plan Configuration

Configure your requisition forms and approval workflows based on your processes.

Enable Hiring Plan	Enable the Hiring Plan for your account to reveal configuration settings ▶︎ Enable Hiring Plan
Customize requisition forms	Create new requisition fields or customize the default fields based on your processes.  ▶︎ Manage requisition fields
Configure approval workflows	Set up a default approval workflow (mandatory) and custom approval workflows for specific departments/locations (if needed) ▶︎ Set up approval workflows

Step 3: Hiring process with requisitions

 

The recommended steps of the hiring process with requisitions are listed below in the order they should occur.

Hiring process with requisitions
Create the job	Create your job posting first; you can set the job as used internally until the req is approved.
Create the requisition	Create a requisition for every hire you plan to make and link it to your existing job. If multiple people will be hired for the same job create a headcount of reqs.  ▶︎ Create requisitions ▶︎ Create requisitions in bulk (headcount)
Send req for approval	Assigned approvers can accept or reject the req details. ▶︎ Approve/reject requisitions
Open req and publish the job	A Requisition Owner opens the req and publishes the job when recruiting begins. The Requisition Owner and a Hiring Manager conduct the hiring process. Monitor and act on requisitions via the Hiring Plan dashboard. ▶︎ Use the Hiring Plan dashboard
Fill the requisition	The Hiring Manager (or Requisition Owner) fills the req by moving the candidate to the Hired stage and inputting salary and start date details. ▶︎ Attach a candidate to a requisition

Step 4: Monitor and report

Throughout your hiring, reports and forecasting tools enable your organization to keep track of your hiring budget and new hire start dates.

Hiring Performance report	Your planned and spent department budget, along with the time it took to fill the requisitions. Best for: Compare planned VS filled budget for each department Planned VS filled requisitions per department
