Search with AI is a search engine for candidates available for all recruiting users except Reviewers & External Recruiters. Search for specific skills, job titles, years of experience and locations using natural language and Search with AI automatically scours millions of profiles from multiple data sources in real time. The information it finds is organized into a single, unified candidate profile. Depending on the candidate, you’ll see information including resume, contact details and more. Add these candidates directly to your hiring pipelines and engage them for recruitment.
Search with AI is different from simply searching through candidates who are already in your account. It enables you to find passive candidates: those who haven't applied for jobs at your company. When you find a great candidate, you can add them to one of the jobs you're hiring for. Contact them at your convenience to introduce your company and the job.
Accessing Search with AI
There are various ways to access Search with AI:
- Via the Candidates page once you click the Start your search button on the right side.
- When in a job's sourced stage, select the Search with AI option if there are no active candidates in the Sourced stage, or by selecting Search with AI Passive Candidates from the dropdown menu when selecting to add candidates on the right side.
- When in a job's Find Candidate's tab, select Search with AI (Passive candidates)
- After you've finished viewing all matching candidates via Search with AI, use the search bar to find additional candidates based on the searched criteria.
Finding the right candidates
After a search query is executed, our AI returns the identified search criteria and displays them as pills below the search field. AI identifies mainly the following search criteria:
- Job Title
- Experience (years of experience)
- Education (University name)
- Industry
- Company names
- Location
- Skills
Modify your search text to alter, include, or remove criteria in your search.
For some profiles, you'll see Likelihood to Move and Market Compensation data. Click on those buttons to view the information. Likelihood to Move shows how likely the candidate is to be receptive to a new job opportunity. Market Compensation shows a percentile distribution for what the candidate's current salary might be.
Once the profile list appears, move between profiles by swiping to the left and right. Click a profile to view more details and add it to the job pipeline.
Adding candidates to Workable
After reviewing the profiles, you can:
- Add them to your pipeline individually from the option at the upper right of the profile you are currently viewing.
- Add them to your pipeline in bulk; just tick the profiles from the list and a button will appear at the bottom to add the selected profiles to your pipeline.
Contacting sourced candidates
When candidates have been added to the Sourced stage through Search with AI, contact them individually or in bulk. These candidates have not directly applied for the job, so be sure to introduce yourself, the company, and the job, explain why you're reaching out, and see if they are interested in being considered for the role. Below are some options for your first outreach:
- Generate a personalized outreach email with AI
- Use the communication template named 'New job opportunity' (included in the default templates)
- Use the template under this resource page
You can also ask sourced candidates to apply on your careers page (so that they can answer your application questions). You can check more here on how this will be handled in the system (scenario 3 in the table).
Note: If you have GDPR features enabled on your account, candidates that are sourced for jobs in the EU, UK, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland & Liechtenstein will be deleted after 30 days unless you contact them via email through Workable.
