If your company uses Workable Referrals, they'll invite you to access their referrals portal in order to refer candidates to jobs and/or submit internal applications (one or both of these options may be available depending on your company's use of the portal).
This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to use the Referrals Portal effectively, from getting started as a new user to tracking your referrals' progress.
First steps for new users
-
Accessing the Referrals Portal
-
Invitation email
Before logging into your account's Referrals portal, a Workable Admin member will probably trigger an invitation email that grants you access to Workable Referrals. Follow these steps to sign up for the first time:
- Click on the link in the invitation email.
-
Click Sign Up at the bottom of the window, and use your business email address, e.g., ' name@yourcompany.com', to create your Referrals account.
- Enter your first and last name as you would like them to appear in Worable Referrals.
- Set a password that meets our requirements or select to join using your Google/LinkedIn/Microsoft account.
If you are already a member of your company's main Workable account, then Referrals will use the same sign-in credentials. Simply sign in as you would for your main account (credentials, Google sign-in, etc).
In the future, you can use your company's site to log in to your account. It will look like:
https://[companyname].workable.com/referrals
Auto-join
If your company has auto-join enabled, you may be able to join your company's Referrals portal without an invitation if you already have your organization's Referrals site link. You won't be able to auto-join with a personal email address. -
SSO
If your company has connected Workable Referrals to your single sign-on (SSO) provider, once you navigate to your company’s Referrals site link, you will be prompted to sign in using your SSO credentials.
-
Manage your notification preferences
-
By default, you will receive job notifications daily and candidate/hire notifications immediately but you can manage your notification preferences from your account.
Features for Referral users
Features for Referral users | |
Refer candidates |
If your organization has enabled this feature, you can view your company's open roles and refer candidates for them under your job referral dashboard. |
Submit internal applications |
If your organization has enabled this feature, you can view your company's open roles and submit internal applications for them under your job referral dashboard. |
Share a personal referral link |
You can share a personal referral link for one or all open roles to help find candidates and get credit for a referral. |
Review applications from your network |
Review applications via your unique referral link and decide if you'd like to refer them or not. If you ignore the candidate or don't take any action, the candidate won't be tracked as one of your referrals, and you will not be considered eligible for a reward. |
Track your referrals' progress and rewards |
After submitting a referral, track the status of referrals you've submitted and - if your company offers it - see potential referral bonuses. |
