The Screening assistant leverages AI technology to facilitate the review and first shortlisting of active and passive candidates at the Sourced and Applied stages of your recruiting pipeline(s).
It helps you quickly identify good candidates by providing:
- Short summaries of candidate profiles, with a checklist to show you how well a candidate matches your job’s hard requirements.
- A ranking function based on the AI evaluations to compare and sort candidates.
Extraction of matching criteria
Important: The Screening assistant will work only for newly created jobs.
After creating and publishing a new job (eligible are all active jobs), AI analyzes the job description and extracts the hard skills identified throughout, rephrasing them in a more concise manner. The soft skills are skipped since they are usually assessed in later stages, such as phone screening and video screening.
As soon as there are candidates in the job pipeline, the matching criteria will be displayed at the top of the candidate profile:
The matching criteria are grouped in the following categories:
- Education
- Experience
- Skills
- Other (This category applies when criteria do not fit into any of the above categories, e.g., “Applicant must be over 18 years old.”)
AI evaluations of candidate profiles
AI will use the information available in the candidate profile and specifically the following sections:
- Profile Summary: The summary that is written by the candidates.
- Education: The education experience.
- Experience: The past job experiences, including the experience summaries where the candidates usually elaborate on each past work experience.
- Skills: The list of skills that come with each candidate's profile.
Important:
- The above sections do not refer to the sections included in the resume file attached to the candidate profile.
- If a candidate profile doesn’t include any of the above sections, AI won’t return any evaluations.
As soon as AI completes the assessment, the results/ratings will appear at the top of the candidate’s profile and in the candidate avatar under the candidate list:
The matching degrees represent the percentage of criteria that have been met and will be displayed only under the Sourced or Applied stages.
Editing AI matches
You can always override AI decisions by using the “Edit this profile summary” functionality at the bottom-right of the AI module (only users with profile edit permissions can edit AI matches).
Just tick or untick the criteria you would like to show as matching for the specific candidate. Upon saving, the name of the last user that performed the edit/review will be displayed.
Editing AI matches
Click Edit on the upper right of the AI Profile summary page and tick or untick the criteria you would like to show as matching for the specific candidate.
Sorting candidates by best match
You can sort candidates to easily identify strong matches – or those that don’t meet basic requirements. Under the 'Sort & filter" menu, select to sort by Best match.
The candidates for which AI was unable to assess will be displayed at the bottom of the list, with a separator communicating that the following profiles were not assessed by AI but should be reviewed manually.
FAQs
- Will updating the job details cause the criteria extraction to be triggered again?
-
In the current version, the matching criteria are extracted once after a job is published and will not be updated even if the job description is edited. This means that any changes made to the job description will not affect the matching criteria.
- What happens if I edit a candidate profile section used for matching?
- If you edit one of the following sections, the AI matches will be re-evaluated:
-
- Education
- Experience
- Profile Summary
- Skills
If the initial assessment differs, our AI will update the matched criteria and the matching degree. If, however, a user previously edited a matching criteria, our AI will respect the human decision and will not proceed with any changes.
- Does the Screening Assistant disqualify candidates?
-
The Screening Assistant does not disqualify candidates. It serves as a "co-pilot" for your screening process, leaving the final decision to disqualify or move forward with a candidate to the hiring team.
- Can I disable the AI Screening Assistant?
