Workable homepage is tailored to each user's role and will enable you to easily find important information such as your daily agenda, to-dos, company events, time off, jobs, and other administrative duties, such as onboarding employees.
When you log in, you will be directed straight to your homepage, which you can access anytime by clicking on the "W" logo in the main navigation bar.
The homepage's content and layout adapt dynamically to suit the user's role in the Recruiting and HR packages, their account's content (such as created jobs and employees), and the existence of an employee profile and assigned time-off policies.

Personal information widget
The personal information widget displays the user's basic information, e.g., name and job title plus the below info if your company is using HR features and you have an employee profile:
- Department/ Entity & location
- Manager (if any)
- Direct reports (if any)
- Teammates (if any); these users are employees reporting to the same manager
An icon will indicate if someone is on leave for the line manager, direct reports, and teammates (just like in the employee directory).
Today widget
Celebrations, Holidays, and 'Who is out': available to users with at least Standard access to Employee management
The Today widget provides information about:
- Scheduled recruiting events
- Company celebrations
- Company holidays
- Employees on leave
The widget has three tabs:
Events tab is visible to all users with access to recruiting and shows all events from the user's agenda on the selected date. Events are listed in chronological order, with completed events shaded. Clicking on an event redirects you to the candidate's profile.
If no events are scheduled for today, you will see the next scheduled event. By clicking on it, you will navigate to the corresponding date in the widget to find out which candidate it is for.
Celebrations tab is visible to members with at least standard access to Employee management and shows company-related events such as:
- New employees starting
- Employment anniversaries
- Employees' birthdays
Note: The visibility of employment-related events (new hires & anniversaries) and birthdays depends on the visibility configuration of the fields “Start date” and “Birthdate,” respectively.
Holidays tab is visible to members with at least standard access to Employee management and shows all company holidays.
At the bottom of the Today widget, you will see employees on leave (the number of employees who have approved time-off requests on the selected date) and on public holiday.
Clicking on it will redirect you to the Time-off calendar page, where you will see the list of all employees who are out today split into two tabs: on leave and on public holiday.
To-dos widget
Note: Currently, it's not possible to create/assign your own to-dos/tasks to other Workable users.
The to-dos widget displays actionable tasks for each member based on their role, account setup, and package. Users can click on each task to complete the action. Once the action is completed, the related Inbox item is archived, and the to-do item disappears from the widget.
The following items are considered as to-dos:
Recruiting
- Create/approve/open requisition(s)
- Review/sign an offer
- Add an evaluation
- Publish, unpublish, or archive a job (request to Admin)
- Purchase or unpublish a premium job posting (request to Admin)
- Review a request to join the hiring team (request to Admin)
- Purchase a premium tool (request to Admin)
Employee management
-
Review profile updates
-
E-signature requests
-
Time-off request approvals and attachment reminders
- Purchase Workable HR (request to Admin)
When you hover over a to-do item, you will have the option to either take action on it or archive it. Archiving a to-do item will remove it from both the to-do list on the home page and your inbox.
Jobs widget
The Jobs widget provides quick access to the jobs the user has visibility on and offers some basic recruiting actions. The widget shows active jobs that the member is working on first, in alphabetical order. Pinned jobs are displayed before others. The below actions will be available depending on the user role:
- Create job: for members with recruiting permission standard or all access
- Create requisition: for members with recruiting permission standard or all access (available only in accounts with Hiring plan enabled)
More actions will also be available (based on the recruiting permission) at a job level under the three dots menu like:
- View job post
- Edit job
- Refer candidates
- Upload candidates
Employee onboarding widget
HR Admins can use this widget to see a list of new employees with a future start date who have not yet had their onboarding scheduled or started. They can also use the Onboard action to start an onboarding as they would normally from the employee profile or the onboarding tab.
This widget displays the top 3 employees (based on their start date), sorted in ascending order. If there are more than 3 employees, there is a View all action within the widget that will take users to the Onboarding tab.
HR Admins can also view new hires and add them to the employee directory as a draft via the View new hires option.
Time off widgets
The first widget provides a quick overview of the available balances for the time-off policies assigned to each employee by HR Admins. Employees can also initiate a time-off request from the "Request time off" button.
The second widget displays up to two upcoming time-off requests for the employee and options to view details/cancel (under three dots menu). If there are more than two requests, an option to View all requests is available in the top right corner. This directs the employee to the Time off > Upcoming tab in their employee profile.
View per member access
The homepage's content and layout adapt dynamically to suit the user's permission in Recruiting and Employee management. You can see some examples below:
- All access - only employee management
- As an Admin with no access to recruiting, you won't be able to see recruiting-related widgets like events or the jobs widget.
- Standard access - both recruiting and employee management
- As a Standard access member in both recruiting and employee management, you may be restricted from specific actions e.g. creating a requisition.
- Standard access - only employee management
- As a Standard access member with no access to recruiting you won't be able to see recruiting-related widgets like events or the jobs widget.
- External recruiters
- External recruiters won't have access to your Employees tab or any part of your employee data (if you are using our HR features), so they won't be able to see any HR-related widgets like Celebrations and Time-off widgets. They also won't be able to create jobs and requisitions.
