Workable offers flexible plans to meet our users' evolving needs. This article provides guidance on how to effectively manage your self-service subscription plan, whether you're looking to upgrade to access more jobs and features or downgrade to optimize costs.

- If your plan is purchased through manual invoicing and you need to make any transitions, please contact our support team or your designated point of contact at Workable.
Upgrades
Upgrading your current plan is available without the need to cancel your current subscription. The system will handle the transition automatically and perform the needed actions (prorated billing or refund for the remaining days) depending on the transition. An upgrade is considered:
- Moving from a monthly plan to an annual plan. For example:
- From Starter to Standard annual or Premier
- From Standard monthly to Standard annual or Premier
- Moving from Paygo (existing customers) to any other plan
- Moving from Starter to Standard monthly
- Moving from Standard annual to Premier
- Adding an additional package to your existing plan (Recruiting/HR)

To transition from Standard monthly to Standard annual:
For any other transition of this category just go to Settings > Plan page and upgrade to the new plan. |
From Paygo (existing customers) to any plan |
Go to Settings > Plan page and upgrade to the new plan. ❗If the Starter plan is greyed out for you, this means that you have more than 2 active jobs. Once you archive some of your jobs and you keep only two, then the Starter plan will become available. |
From Starter to Standard monthly |
Go to Settings > Plan page and upgrade to the new plan. |
From Standard annual to Premier |
Go to Settings > Plan page and upgrade to the new plan. |
Add a package |
Go to Settings > Plan page, select the additional package, and upgrade your plan. |
Downgrades
A downgrade is considered:
- Moving from an annual plan to a monthly plan. For example:
- From Standard annual to Standard monthly or Starter
- Moving from Standard monthly to Starter
- Moving from Premier to another lower-tier plan
- Removing a package from your existing plan (Recruiting/HR).❗It is not possible to remove the Recruiting package from the Starter plan.

Downgrading from the Premier plan to another lower-tier plan is not possible with the process described above. Please contact your Account Manager for further assistance. |
Remove a package |
Removing a package from your current plan is not possible when your subscription is active.

Pause your subscription
You can cancel/temporarily pause your subscription and archive all positions while keeping access to your data. To do that, you should cancel your subscription as described here.
Once you are ready to continue your hiring, you will need to purchase a new subscription from your Plan page.
⚠️ Important: Refunds are not possible for early cancellations/downgrades. You should only cancel your plan before its renewal date or cancel your subscription renewal.

- Can I change the number of my full-time employees while my subscription is active?

No, once your employee count (FTEs) is selected and the plan is purchased, the field will be greyed out. In order to update it at the end of your billing cycle, you will need to:
- Cancel your plan renewal
- Repurchase the plan, adding the updated employee count
