Indeed Talent Scout is available in Workable for companies with an active Indeed Smart Sourcing subscription. Talent Scout brings AI-powered matching directly into Workable, helping surface high-quality prospects and understand job performance through data-backed insights.
To activate Talent Scout inside Workable, you must have:
- An active Indeed Smart Sourcing subscription. Smart Sourcing unlocks AI matching, suggested prospects, and personalized messaging.
- An enabled Indeed integration in Workable.
You must generate a partner token and complete the setup in your Indeed account.
Setting up Talent Scout
The steps below describe how to activate Indeed Talent Scout within your Workable account.
In your Workable account:
- Head to Settings > Integrations > Apps > Indeed.
- Click Enable Talent Scout. A Token will be generated automatically. If it's not generated, you will see a 'Generate token' button to generate it manually.
- Copy the token and complete the setup in your Indeed Account by following the instructions below.
In your Indeed account:
Go to the dedicated Workable integration page in your Indeed employer account here. Then follow the instructions:
- Navigate to ATS Integrations.
- Select Workable > Get Started > Install candidate syncing.
- When prompted, enter the Partner token you generated in Workable.
- Save and complete the install.
Once the Indeed setup instructions are followed, Talent Scout will be enabled.
Adding members with access to Talent Scout
Once the integration is active, in your Workable account, access the Talent Scout “Members with access” area, add each team member who should have access to Talent Scout, and confirm they appear in the eligible user list.
Using Talent Scout Inside Workable
Once enabled, users with access to Talent Scout will see an "Ask Talent Scout" button at the bottom-center of their home page, underneath the job list.
Once clicked, it will open as an assistant panel on the right side of the screen, from which you can discover top candidates, monitor job performance, and take recommended next steps without leaving Workable.
Interacting with Talent Scout
When Talent Scout opens, you will see suggested, job-specific prompts such as:
- Show top matches for this job
- Show newest applicants for this job
- Show scheduled interviews for this job
- How is this job performing?
- Show improvements I can make for this job
These prompts align with Scout’s core capabilities. AI-powered matching, prospect suggestions, applicant insights, and job performance recommendations. You can either click a suggested prompt or type your own question in the input box. Talent Scout supports natural language, so you may ask:
- “Find candidates who match the required certifications.”
- “How can I improve the job title or salary range?”
- “Show recommended prospects I can invite to apply.”
- “Summarize this job’s overall performance.”
Talent Scout is designed to support recruitment teams without replacing human judgment. All actions and recommendations remain fully under your control.
When Talent Scout provides results:
- Applicants and prospects: You can open and evaluate profiles directly in Workable.
- Recommended outreach: Scout can generate personalized messages that you can send to prospects.
- Job performance insights: You receive Indeed-backed recommendations (title, salary, benefits) to boost visibility and quality.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
- The "Ask Talent Scout" button does not appear on my home page.
The widget “Ask Talent Scout” will appear on the dashboard only after the integration has been properly enabled, setup has been completed, and the members who need access have been added.
- "Generate Token" button appears instead of "Enable Talent Scout".

In some cases, you may see a “Generate Token” button in Workable instead of the usual “Enable Talent Scout” option. This typically means that the previously generated Partner Token was revoked, expired, or was never fully activated through the Indeed setup flow.
How to resolve it:- Click Generate Token again.
- Copy the newly generated Partner Token.
- Complete the setup steps in your Indeed account once more as described earlier in the article.
- Jobs are not populating / Talent Scout is not showing

Check the following:
- The Workable / Indeed integration is enabled.
- The Partner Token is generated
- The ATS Integration setup in Indeed is completed.
- That you have an active Smart Sourcing subscription.
- Error: “Talent Scout is not available in your region.

Talent Scout only works for US IP addresses. A VPN using a non-U.S. region will likely block access. If you’re not using one, please prompt them to reach out to Indeed.
- Is Talent Scout available outside the U.S.?
Not yet. The feature is currently available only in the U.S.
- Does Talent Scout replace Workable AI?
No, they complement each other. Talent Scout enhances sourcing and matching using Indeed data; Workable AI supports pipeline management, automations, and productivity inside the system.
- Is there an additional cost?
Talent Scout itself is free, with no extra costs or setup fees on Workable’s side. However, the AI matching and sourcing features require a Smart Sourcing subscription. You can sign up for a Smart Sourcing free trial to test it out. The trial includes up to 5 contacts for 14 days.
- I just updated my Indeed contract. Does that make Scout available now?
No, access to Talent Scout is not tied to contract updates. Talent Scout is currently available only through the three ATSs chosen for early access, and Workable is one of them due to our strong integration and long-standing strategic partnership.
