Uploading appropriately sized and styled images and logos can help alleviate unintentional formatting and display the best image possible for your job postings and careers page. Follow our guide below to help obtain the optimal results.
General guidelines
Wherever possible, keep the following in mind when adding images into Workable:
- Use images with a solid rather than transparent background.
- Prepare several images with varying dimensions and a buffer around the centered main image to test for the best result based on the image's shape.
- Use the smallest image size possible without sacrificing quality to optimize loading times on different networks.
Images for company logos
Company logos should ideally be created with a solid background with a buffer around the main image. The amount of buffer required varies and will require experimentation, but the total image dimension (including buffer) should be:
- Preferred Aspect Ratio: 1:1 (Square) or slightly rectangular (4:3 or 3:2)
- Logo size: 250 x 250 px (or up to 400 x 400 px) (or similar depending on shape/ratios)
Images for careers page elements

For the best results, use an image at least 1920 pixels wide. Workable will crop and scale the image automatically. We’ll try to find the best fit for your image, and you can adjust the positioning yourself. Learn more here.
Image with text section:
When each image is added, a cropping tool will enable you to designate an area for cropping (the crop dimensions will be 540x350 pixels).

Ensure images have adequate resolution to prevent any pixelation. When each image is added, a cropping tool will enable you to designate a rectangular area for cropping (the crop dimensions will be 350x350px, and the image ratio will be 1:1).
It's beneficial if the selected image can be cropped into a rectangular shape without losing its meaning or aesthetic value.
Images for social sharing
For the thumbnail that Workable displays when sharing your jobs on social media, we recommend using an image of 1200x1200 pixels (1:1 aspect ratio). Keep key details centered to avoid parts of the image being automatically cropped.
X, for example, will display the image as a square. LinkedIn will display the image as a rectangle. In the example below, the part of the image highlighted in white is what would appear in a LinkedIn post.

Images in email signatures
For images added in email signatures, we recommend 220 x 220 px for ultimate results for a square image. If the image is rectangular and not square, it might be best to contact your design team and ask them to create an image where the width would be fixed to the following values depending on the size you want to use (the height will change based on the image you will use):
- Small: 100 width x (…) height px
- Medium: 150 width x (…) height px
- Large: 220 width x (…) height px
Avoid using large images, as resizing them can cause blurriness when emailing candidates.
