The Workable Agent uses your existing job permissions, so there is no separate access layer to learn. This article explains who can set up the Agent, who can publish agentic jobs, and how to configure access for your team.
Who can do what
- Create and set up: anyone who can create a job can create an agentic job and define the Ideal Candidate Profile (ICP)
- Publish: publishing an agentic job requires publish permission — the same as publishing any job
- Manage the Agent: anyone with edit-job permission can turn the Agent on and adjust its settings for a job
- See scores and reasoning: anyone who can view a candidate's profile can also see the Agent's score and reasoning for that candidate
By default, edit-job permission is granted to all hiring team members except Reviewers. This means most of your hiring team can manage the Agent on jobs they are part of, while Reviewers cannot. For more on hiring team roles, see Comparing Recruiting access levels.
Premier and Enterprise customers can configure hiring team role permissions to match how their team works. If you need to limit who can turn the Agent on or change its settings, adjust the edit-job permission for the relevant roles in Managing and customizing roles and permissions.
How to set access up well
- Decide who should own the Agent for each job — usually the recruiter or Hiring Manager
- If you need tighter control, review which roles have edit-job permission (Premier or Enterprise)
- Check the hiring team on each job so the right people, and only the right people, can make changes
Turning AI features on or off for the account
Workable has a single control for AI features in your account settings. An admin can switch all of Workable's AI, including the Agent, on or off from there. There is one combined switch, not separate controls for AI and the Agent.
FAQs
Can someone set up the Agent but not publish the job?
Yes. Anyone who can create a job can build an agentic job and define the ICP, but the job will not go live until someone with publish permission publishes it.
Who can see the Agent's scores and reasoning?
Anyone who can view the candidate's profile. The Agent's rating appears alongside the profile and follows the same visibility rules as the rest of the candidate's details.
Can I stop the Agent across the whole account?
Yes. An admin can switch off AI features for the account from settings, which turns off the Agent everywhere.
