Cancel your paid subscription
To cancel your paid subscription and keep your data:
- Navigate to the Settings > Plan section of your account.
- Click Cancel subscription in your current plan details.
- Fill in the exit survey.
- Choose the cancellation option you prefer:
- Cancel subscription renewal: cancel/deactivate the renewal of your subscription; your subscription will remain active until it expires at the corresponding expiration date.

Cancel immediately: this action will end your current subscription to Workable immediately, regardless of any time remaining on your subscription.❗We cannot provide refunds for the time remaining on the account.
- Click Cancel subscription to confirm the action.
Once your subscription is moved to the free plan:
- All jobs will be automatically unpublished and archived.
- Candidate data will be kept intact, but candidates will be in 'read-only' mode. Interacting with candidate profiles will not be possible.
- Employee data will be kept intact (if you use HR features). You'll still have access to employee profiles, directory, org chart and files.
- All your settings (pipelines, templates, etc.) will be kept intact and saved in your account. You can edit settings in the free plan.
- Reporting is limited; only the Candidate Breakdown report is accessible. The data in the other reports are not lost; as soon as you return to a paid plan, reports will be updated again.
- Your Workable Careers page will remain active, but no job openings will be listed.
- To reactivate any jobs, subscribe to a Workable plan.
Reactivate your paid subscription
If you have chosen to cancel your subscription renewal and until this cancellation takes place, you can reactivate your subscription and recurring payments. To do so:
- Navigate to the Settings > Plan section of your account.
- Click Reactivate under your current plan details (yellow box).
By reactivating your subscription, your renewal will be processed as usual for payment.
Permanently delete your account
To permanently delete your account data and careers page:
- Navigate to the Settings > Plan section of your account.
- Select the option to cancel your subscription immediately (as explained above).
- Tick the option to permanently delete your account data.
Once your account is deleted:
- All your recruiting data will be deleted. We advise you not to close your account permanently unless you’re sure no further access to your recruiting data is required.
- You will no longer be able to log in and will lose access to your jobs and candidates. Once the account is closed, recovering this data may not be possible.
- Your Workable Careers page will be completely removed.

- I can't see the option to cancel my subscription/close my account.
- If you are under our Trial plan, the options to cancel your subscription or close your account will be available at the bottom of your Plan page.
- I can't see the option to cancel my subscription renewal.
- If this option is not available for your account, this means that you have a manual subscription. Please contact your Workable point of contact to discuss your options further.
- Is the free plan the same as an expired plan?

No. If your plan expires (e.g., due to a failed payment), you'll only have access to the Plan and Billing information pages, and you won't be able to access any of your data or interact with candidates.
If you don't want to use Workable anymore, you need to downgrade your expired account to the Free plan as described in this article.
