Free job boards allow you to post a job opening at no cost. Typically, this post will appear in search results or job feeds on the specified boards, organized by posting date. This means that free postings get less visible as they age; e.g. a job that was published today will appear earlier in search results than a job that was posted a month ago.
Some free boards have a premium option. You can sponsor the job post to have it appear more frequently and earlier in search results. Most sponsored posts have a time limit (for example, 30 days), after which the post reverts to the free version.
Paid / premium job boards require that you pay to post at all. These boards may have advanced networks or offer other features, which is why you must pay to post.
How billing is managed for premium postings depends on how the posting was purchased.
- If you are using a premium posting through a job board integration (using your already purchased slots), billing is handled directly on the job board — you will not be able to view or manage it in Workable.
- If you purchased a premium posting directly through Workable, you can find and check your invoices within Workable by navigating to the Billing information section.
👉 To view the available job boards for your job location(s) and select the ones you'd like to post, navigate to the Find Candidates section. Then click on the Free and Premium job board tiles, respectively. All job locations will appear as tabs at the top.
