Integrating with Deel

Deel is offering global payroll and compliant hiring solutions built for international teams. Companies can instantly hire full-time employees or independent contractors across the world legally and create localized legal contracts in over 150 countries. 

When you integrate Workable with Deel HR, PEO, or Global Payroll, you'll be able to export candidate information and create contracts in Deel when candidates are moved to the Offer or Hired stage in Workable. 

 

Setting up the integration

You must be a Super Admin in Workable and a team admin or organization manager in Deel to set up this integration.

In your Workable account:

Locate and copy your Workable subdomain. The subdomain is the name of your account in the URL, ending with workable.com. 

In your Deel account:

1. Click Apps & Perks in the menu bar
2. Select Workable from the list of integrations (under Human Resources section)
3. Click Connect 
4. Paste your Workable subdomain and select authentication method:
   • Workable authentication (recommended)
     You will see a prompt to allow Deel to access your Workable account.
   • Access Token
     Copy (or generate if you haven't already) an access token and paste it here. Click Continue to authenticate the connection between the platforms.

Almost there! Now it's time to add the required custom field in Workable that will be used to create contracts in Deel. You can add the field to any of your existing sections or create a new section e.g. one named "Additional information". Make sure you fill out the custom field details as described below: 

Once the custom field is added, click on the Complete setup button. Deel will pre-install some fully configurable field mappings. 

 

Using the integration

To generate a draft contract in Deel for a candidate you are about to hire (or hired) you will have to complete the below steps:

• Open the candidate profile and select the Deel contract type using the “Hire Remotely Using Deel?” custom field

• Move the candidate to the Offer stage in Workable (or Hired stage if you customized this to be triggered only when the candidate is Hired)

In your Deel account:

• Go to the Contracts tab

• You’ll see a new draft contract created for that candidate. Please note that it can take a few minutes for the contract to appear in Deel.
  Tip: You can use the 'Contract status' filter and select to see only draft contracts.

• Complete the rest of the contract and fill in any missing details

The candidate's contract status is updated in Deel once completed. 

 

Customizing the integration

Choose when to create contracts

Under the integration settings page in Deel, you can customize when to create contracts. By default, this toggle is off and you will get drafts created when you've moved the candidate to the Offer stage in Workable.

Toggle this setting on if you want to create contracts when the candidate is moved to the Hired stage instead of the Offer stage. 

Field mapping

Deel will pre-install the below field mappings:

• Candidate name (Contract Name (Fixed Rate))
• Candidate email
• Candidate job title (Job Title (Fixed Rate))
• Job country (Nationality (Fixed Rate))
• Job description
• Offer salary amount
• Offer salary currency
• Start date
• Candidate name (Contract Name (Milestone))
• Candidate job title (Job Title (Milestone))
• Job country (Nationality (Milestone))

Those mappings are configured by default, but you can remove, edit and add new ones upon your preference. To add a new mapping:

• Click the Add button next to the 'Optional field mapping' section
• On the left, pick the Workable field you wish to add 
• On the right, select the Deel contract field

 

Disabling/deleting the integration

You can temporarily disable the integration by scrolling to the bottom of the integration settings page; just toggle off the 'Integration status' field and it will change to inactive. 

You can also delete and remove the integration by clicking on ‘Delete Integration'. If you delete the integration you will lose any settings or mappings you have created so far. You will need to disable the custom field manually via the Workflow section of your account.
