The Workable Agent runs on credits. One credit covers everything the Agent does to screen a single candidate — matching against your ideal candidate profile, outreach, and chat — from start to finish.
Free credits
All paid Recruiting package customers receive 1,000 free credits as a one-off grant to evaluate the Agent with no commitment. For new customers, these credits are granted once the account moves to a paid plan.
Note: The Agent is not yet accessible to Trial accounts but will be shortly.
Purchasing credits
To purchase additional credits, go to Settings > Plan and select the option to purchase Agent credits.
For online purchases, three credit bundles are available: 1,000, 5,000, and 10,000 credits. Select the bundle that fits your needs and proceed to checkout.
If you prefer to purchase credits via manual invoicing, select Request a call to contact your Account Manager. Custom amounts are available starting at 1,000 credits.
Credits expire one year after purchase (or one year after activation for free credits). They are consumed in First-In, First-Out order and are non-refundable. Credits are not tied to your subscription duration.
Monitoring your credit balance
Account usage:
Under your Plan page, you can view your total Agent credit balance. Hover over the credits section to see a breakdown of each credit bundle and its expiry date.
Job usage:
Under the AI agent tab for each agentic job, you can see the number of candidates evaluated so far. This count also reflects your usage for that specific job, as each scoring consumes one credit.
Low credit notifications
Workable will alert users with purchase permissions when your credit balance is running low:
- Email notifications: sent at 80%, 90%, and 100% consumption of your total credit balance.
- In-product banners: displayed on the homepage, Jobs page, and AI Agent tab when 80% of credits have been used, and again when the balance reaches zero.
Credit consumption rules
The following rules apply to specific candidate scenarios:
- Copied candidate: 1 credit for the origin job + 1 credit for the target job, as matching is performed against a new ideal candidate profile
- Moved candidate: 1 credit for the origin job + 1 credit for the target job
- Merged candidates (same email on the same job): 1 credit total, regardless of how many profiles are merged
- Candidate with no or unreachable email: 1 credit consumed; outreach resumes automatically if an email is later added
- Auto-disqualified by a knockout question or blocked candidate: 0 credits consumed
- Uploaded candidate: 1 credit consumed
FAQs
- Do credits expire?
Yes. Credits expire one year after purchase. Free credits expire one year after activation. Credits are consumed in First-In, First-Out order, meaning the oldest credits are used first.
- Can I get a refund for unused credits?
Credits are non-refundable.
- What happens if I run out of credits mid-process?
Candidates who have already been assigned a credit continue to be processed by the Agent even if the balance reaches zero. Only new candidates entering the pipeline after credits are exhausted will not be processed.
- Are credits shared across all jobs?
Yes. Credits are held at the account level and are shared across all Agentic jobs where the Agent is enabled.
