The Workable Agent consumes AI credits as it works through your candidates — for example, when it screens them against your ideal candidate profile, sources passive candidates, or engages them.
Free AI credits
All paid Recruiting package customers receive 3,000 free AI credits as a one-off grant to evaluate the Agent with no commitment. For new customers, these AI credits are granted once the account moves to a paid plan.
Note: The Agent is not yet accessible to Trial accounts but will be shortly.
Purchasing AI credits
To purchase additional AI credits, go to Settings > Plan and select the option to purchase AI credits.
For online purchases, three AI credit bundles are available: 5,000, 10,000 and 50,000 credits. Select the bundle that fits your needs and proceed to checkout.
If you prefer to purchase AI credits via manual invoicing, select Request a call to contact your Account Manager.
AI credits expire one year after purchase. The 3,000 free AI credits are provided once your account moves to a paid recruiting plan and expire 1 year after your plan activation date. They are consumed in First-In, First-Out order and are non-refundable. AI credits are not tied to your subscription duration.
Monitoring your AI credit balance
Account usage:
Under your Plan page, you can view your total AI credit balance. Hover over the AI credits section to see a breakdown of each credit bundle and its expiry date.
Job usage:
Under the AI agent tab for each agentic job, you can see the number of candidates evaluated so far, which gives you a view of the Agent's activity on that job. For your overall AI credit balance and usage, see the Plan page.
Low credit notifications
Workable will alert users with purchase permissions when your AI credit balance is running low:
- Email notifications: sent at 80%, 90%, and 100% consumption of your total AI credit balance.
- In-product banners: displayed on the homepage, Jobs page, and AI Agent tab when 80% of AI credits have been used, and again when the balance reaches zero.

- Do AI credits expire?
Yes. AI credits expire one year after purchase. The 3,000 free AI credits are provided once your account moves to a paid recruiting plan and expire 1 year after your plan activation date. AI credits are consumed in First-In, First-Out order, meaning the oldest credits are used first.
- Can I get a refund for unused AI credits?
AI credits are non-refundable.
- What happens if I run out of AI credits mid-process?
Candidates the Agent has already started processing continue to be processed by the Agent even if the balance reaches zero. Only new candidates entering the pipeline after AI credits are exhausted will not be processed.
- Are AI credits shared across all jobs?
Yes. AI credits are held at the account level and are shared across all agentic jobs where the Agent is enabled.
