Some job sites use a process called "scraping" to gather information about open positions found around the web (for example, on your careers page, or website). They constantly look for new job posts around the web and "scrape" those posts to put them on their own website without the consent of your organization. Typically, a program or "bot" is used to find job posts, copy the text and application form link of the post, and add the job to their site.
Workable is not able to completely prevent scraping. If your jobs were scraped and you don’t want them to be shown on those job boards, we recommend you contact those sites directly and ask them to remove the posts.
Jobs that are not published cannot be scraped. When you unpublish a Workable job the ability to apply is immediately disabled, even if your post is still live on a third-party site. Candidates will no longer be able to apply through sites that have scraped the post because the original post on your Workable careers page will not be available for redirection.
