Navigate to the Hiring Plan dashboard and click the three dots to select Edit requisition:
You can edit:
- Open, pending, approved, and rejected requisitions - available for Hiring Managers and above (given that they can view the requisition).
-
Filled requisitions - available only for Super admin and Recruiters. You can edit date fields (plan date, open date, fill date, and start date) and any custom requisition fields you have added. The fields below are non-editable; please reach out to us for any necessary updates on these fields:
- Job
- Salary range
- Requisition owner
- Requisition hiring manager
Navigate to your Hiring Plan settings to check which fields require re-approval and make edits if needed (three dots menu).
Frequent requisition edits
All the edits you perform will also be reflected in the relevant reports.
Edit the requisition code
The requisition codes are editable for both single requisitions and requisition batches, provided that automatic requisition code generation is not enabled. Editing the requisition code does not trigger re-approval.
Edit plan date
The plan date can be set in the past and up to January of the previous year, and it is editable for both single requisitions and requisition batches. This is also editable in filled requisitions.
Edit open date
The open date can be edited for open and filled requisitions for both single requisitions and requisition batches. This action is available only for Super admins, Recruiters and the requisition owner.
The edited open date will be updated in the relevant reports:
- Hiring plan: reported open date and time to fill calculation
- Hiring performance: average time to fill
- Time to hire: reported open date and time to fill
Edit the associated job
The associated job of a requisition can be updated from the 'Job title' field, and you can select any existing job available in the account that is visible to you.
Once the requisition is filled, you will no longer be able to edit the associated job. Please contact us if you need assistance with making this change.
Edit the requisition department
When a job’s department is updated, any associated requisitions remain linked to the previous department, but you will see a hint in the job editor prompting you to manually update the requisition department if needed.
On the Hiring Plan dashboard, requisitions with a department mismatch will be highlighted. You will see the old department and a warning to update it (from the 'Edit requisition' action) to match the job’s current department. Updating the requisitions’ department does not trigger an approval flow.
Note: The requisition department cannot be updated unless the department of the associated job is already updated (by editing the job).
Fields not requiring re-approval
Edits to fields that do not require reapproval can be made at any time without re-triggering the approval process.
Fields requiring re-approval
If you edit a field requiring reapproval, the requisition will go through the approval workflow again before it is updated. A message will appear when reviewing requisition details to notify you:
The approvers will receive an email and an inbox item that enables them to see the fields that have been edited, as well as the previous value. The change will only be finalized once the approval workflow is complete.
Retriggering the approval workflow is a good workaround if you need to change one or more requisition approvers for a pending requisition. Learn here how to do this.
❗If an open requisition is sent for re-approval, the original open date will remain unchanged, and the time-to-fill metric will continue to be calculated from that original date.
