Trusted Employees has led innovation in employment background screening for over 20 years. Whatever your business type or industry, they offer employment background screening solutions and FCRA background checks designed to meet your needs.
When the background screen is complete, you will be notified about the result, and a link will appear in the candidate profile that goes to your Trusted Employees account, where detailed results are available.
Setting up the integration
If you just created your Trusted Employees account, you should have received an email with your API key. If you already have an account, please contact the Trusted Employees team to provide you with your account's API key. It will be a long strain of random letters and numbers.
With the API key in hand:
- Sign in to Workable as an Admin user and navigate to Integrations > Apps
- Locate Trusted Employees in the list of background check integrations and click on it
- Paste the API key into the field
- Click Update settings
That's it! The integration is now complete, and you will now be able to perform background checks from the candidate's timeline.
After a background check is completed, you will be notified, and the candidate's timeline will be updated with a link to Trusted Employees, where you can log in and view the results.

- A background check request link expired before the candidate took any action
- In the event that you sent a background check request to a candidate and their link expired before they took any action, you have the following options:

- You can resend the link from your Trusted Employees account under the page “Invite Applicant Management”. Under this page, you can see the status of all your invites and can void or resend invites if needed.
- For a more permanent solution, you could extend the link expiration period beyond 7 days (default period). Please send this request to accountmanagement@trustedemployees.com.
