With the Time tracking feature enabled on your Workable account, you may be required to clock in and out or record your timesheet depending on the policies that have been applied. This can be done in multiple convenient ways, which are provided below.
Clock in/out via the time widget
- Visit your Workable homepage. When you log in, you will be directed straight to your homepage, which you can access anytime by clicking on the "W" logo
in the main navigation bar.
- Use the Clock in/out button located above the to-dos panel. A stopwatch will display immediately upon clocking in, and it stops as soon as you're clocked out.
Note: Clock entries may also be accompanied by an optional text note to provide more information about the entry (e.g., “I clocked in late today due to a doctor's appointment”). Admins can edit or delete existing clock entries from an employee’s profile.
To clock in or out, press and hold the green 'Play' or black 'Stop' button for 2 seconds. Haptic feedback (if enabled) will indicate a successful clock in/out.
Upon clocking in:
- The clock will turn to its clock out mode and the timer will begin.
- A time entry will be created in the Timesheets list. This can be accessed via the arrow next to the clock in/out button.
- This entry will have the clock in time listed and 'Ongoing' shown as the clock out time.
Upon clocking out:
- The ongoing entry will be updated to include the end time of the clock.
- The first entry to be created for the day will appear below the widget in the dashboard.
Log hours via manual entry
If the assigned policy allows it (i.e., manual mode or clock editable mode), you may also manually log your hours and/or correct existing entries. This option provides more flexibility for employees as you can also add entries for past days (up to one day) or even the same day up until midnight, but not for future dates.

Managing entry
You can edit or delete existing entries by clicking on them and clicking on the pencil or trash can icon, respectively.

Managing entry
To manage an entry, tap the entry on the Timesheets screen. From there, you can edit or delete the clock in/out time as needed.

- Can I edit an ongoing entry?
- Ongoing entries cannot be edited. To edit an entry, you will need to clock out first.
- Can a Manager or HR Admin clock in/out or add hours on behalf of another employee?
- No, the Manager or HR Admins won’t be able to clock in/out or add hours on behalf of another employee. They will only be able to edit a time tracking entry if needed.
- Are there push notifications for mobile?

Yes, if push notifications are enabled in your preferences, you will be reminded to clock in/out at the start and end of your set work schedule.
