With Zapier, you can add a comment to a candidate profile in Workable based on a trigger. You can select a candidate from the beginning or add a search step to “Find Candidate in Job in Workable” by email address on a job level.
Common use case: You have set up third-party assessments for a job, e.g., Google Forms, and when there is a new row in Google Sheets, the Zap adds a comment to the candidate with an update that answers have been submitted.
Zapier has a free account for basic use. For heavy use, there are tiered pricing options.
To get started, sign in to Zapier and create a new Zap. We need to tell Zapier that when something happens (the trigger, e.g., a row is created or updated in Google Sheets), a comment should be added to the candidate profile (the action).
1. Set the trigger
- Choose your trigger app (e.g., Google Sheets) and the event triggering the Zap (e.g., New or Updated Spreadsheet Row).
- Connect your account for the trigger app you selected.
- Configure how you would like the trigger to work.
2. Set the action(s)
- Select Workable as the action app and choose Add Comment Candidate as the action event.
- Sign in to your Workable account.
- Configure the action settings:
- Account (required)
- Candidate (required): you can select a candidate or add an action search step to “Find Candidate in Job in Workable” by email address on a job level.
- Comment (required)
- Member (required)
- Policy: This policy will adjust the visibility settings of the comment. Comments are always visible to Admins.
3. Activate the Zap
Test the Zap and and then click Publish. Now, when the trigger action takes place, a comment will be added to the respective candidate profile.
