Through the Time-off management features, you can manage your employees’ time off within Workable. As an HR Admin, you can easily create time-off policies, set up public & company holidays, and create work schedules for each of your company entities. You can then assign these policies and work schedules to your employees and enable them to request time off directly from their Workable employee profile.

Step 1: Before you get started
- To ensure a smooth implementation for Time-off management, it's best to complete the necessary prerequisites beforehand.

Before employees can request time off in Workable, it's necessary to build your employee directory and invite your employees to Workable.

Step 2: Setting Configuration
- Configure your work schedules, public holidays, and time off types/policies in the order they appear in the below list.
Time off Management Settings Work schedules Create work schedules for your organization and define working days and hours for your employees.
Holiday calendars Create and configure the public holidays or any specific company holidays.
Time off (types/policies) Create time-off types and policies that may apply to different groups of employees (based on their entity, location, or site).

Step 3: Employee Configuration

Choose which time-off policies each employee is eligible for and adjust their time-off balances (if needed).
Employee Configuration Assign time-off policies to employees Before an employee can request time off in their profile, as an HR Admin, you must select which time-off types should be available for each employee and the policy that needs to be applied for each type.
Edit time-off balance for employees (Optional) If needed, adjust the balance for a time off type of an employee (e.g. bonus days offered).
💡 You can assign policies to employees and update their balances in bulk via a CSV file.

Step 4: Time-off requests

You are now able to utilize the Time off features.
Time off requests Request/cancel time off A time off request can be created or canceled within the employee profile (via desktop & mobile).
Review time-off requests Review time-off requests and approve/reject via the employee profile or Workable Inbox (via desktop & mobile).
View time off balances, history (Time off tab) Time off details, including time-off balances & history, as well as upcoming time off, will be available under the Time off tab within each employee profile.
Check who is out See who is scheduled to be out in the company calendar.
