If an automated email has been sent to the candidate, they cannot receive that email or text message again for the same job. Candidates will receive only one email/text message via the same or another automation per job.
The system checks the template ID before sending. If the same template has already been sent (whether by email or text), the second send will be blocked to prevent the candidate from receiving a duplicate. This means that if both email and text are set up with the same template in a single automation, only one will be delivered - whichever is processed first.
To send both an email and a text message to candidates at the same stage, use separate templates with different names for each channel (e.g. template_email, template_sms), then create two automations - one for the email template and one for the text message template. This ensures both communications are delivered independently since different templates are used.
If an automation has been triggered by a candidate movement but the email/text message has been canceled, or the candidate has moved out of the stage, the automation will trigger again if the candidate is moved back to the stage.
