When all the mandatory fields are completed for a draft employee, you can publish the employee profile. This action will make it “Active” and available to all employees in the company directory and org chart.
Important: Once an employee profile is published, they are no longer eligible to undergo onboarding.
- As an HR Admin, click Publish under the Actions menu.
- Add the business email that the employee will use to sign up in Workable under the Work email field.
- Once you're done, click Publish on the upper right.

When you start onboarding for an employee, you can select whether to automatically publish the profile and invite the member on their start date. This will avoid having to handle these tasks manually.
When an employee's profile has been published and an automated invite has been triggered, but the employee hasn't accepted the invitation to join your Workable account, you may see a message "Hasn't joined account yet" at the top of the employee profile. Until they accept the invitation, they can't sign in or access their employee profile.
To resend the invitation, navigate to the Account Members page and invite them manually.
