Workable’s Video Interviews help candidates seamlessly record and submit their answers to the hiring team’s questions. Video interviews can be completed either using a computer, a tablet or a mobile phone without downloading any software or application on their device.
You can preview the candidate experience for any Workable video interview you create. When editing a job, go to the Workflow tab and create or edit a video interview. Then click the Preview button. You'll be taken to the candidate landing page and can proceed through the interview. Your preview recordings will not be saved or shared.
Preparing for the video interview
When a candidate is invited to a video interview they receive an email with a link to a landing page. You can customize this email however you like.
The landing page has information about the company, the job and the video interview process. The landing page is customized based on what was set when the interview was set up in Workable. The candidate will see your "Introduction" and basic details about the interview like estimated duration. Your company's logo and branding are automatically applied to this page too.
Video interviews can be started and paused as necessary and even completed on different days, as long as the final answers are submitted before the deadline communicated by the hiring team. Candidates will see the deadline on the landing page and will automatically be notified one day before expiration (and at expiration) if they have not submitted their response
Candidates have the option to practice before recording their answers.
Whether practicing or starting recording directly, a quick network test takes place to ensure that the candidate has a reliable internet connection available. Their camera and microphone are also tested to ensure that the candidate is prepared to record their responses.
After the test, the candidate will be able to click on Start interview to proceed.
Recording and submitting answers
When the candidate starts recording they’ll see the question they should respond to.
If ‘think time’ has been set, the recording will start automatically once that time expires. Otherwise the candidate can choose when to start recording.
If you gave candidates the option to record multiple takes for a question, they will be able to review their takes and choose their best one to submit their finalized interview.
Once all responses have been recorded the candidate submits the video interview. A confirmation message will appear on screen and the candidates can safely close their browser.
