Multiple custom recruiting pipelines [Pro]

Follow

The option to customize a single hiring pipeline for your account is the default for any Workable plan. Workable also offers the option to implement multiple custom hiring pipelines with Pro and Enterprise plans.

Multiple hiring pipelines are helpful if you have different hiring processes for different types of roles or departments.

For example, the hiring process for a new member of the sales team, is not the same as the hiring process for an engineer, or a C-level executive. Custom hiring pipelines allow for different stages according to your recruiting requirements; a pipeline with a single interview stage, another with a second or third interview, an assessment stage etc.

Or in this example, the Account Executive job has Assessment and VP Interview stages in its pipeline. Bookkeeper does not.

To talk to someone about the implementation of multiple custom pipelines for your account, contact your account manager or the Workable support team.

An implementation specialist will work with you to setup the pipelines.

When your pipelines are added to your account you'll be able to choose a specific pipeline when creating a job.

Your pipelines will map to an overall Reporting pipeline

In the Recruiting Preferences section of your account, the first pipeline you’ll see is the Reporting pipeline, (example shown above). This is created after consultation with one of our specialists. It is used as a guideline to create consistent reports.

Reporting pipelines can be made up of some or all of the following stages:

  • Shortlisted
  • Phone Screen
  • Assessment
  • Interview
  • Offer
  • Hired

Each stage in your custom pipelines will correspond (or ‘map’) directly to a stage in this Reporting pipeline:

This means that you might have one pipeline with multiple ‘interview’ stages, and another with just one, but as these are all part of the ‘interview’ process for your company, they correspond to the ‘interview’ stage in the Reporting pipeline and the data can be viewed in aggregate in your reports.

Editing custom pipelines

If you’re an admin of your Workable account you can rename or change the type of a stage in a custom recruiting pipeline. Begin by clicking your profile icon in the upper right of Workable. Select Recruiting Preferences from the dropdown menu. Your pipeline settings are at the top of the page that follows.

To rename or change the type of a stage, identify the correct pipeline and rollover the stage. Click the small edit icon that appears at the top right.

Enter a new name (label) and/or select a different stage type. Changing the stage type will alter the icon for this stage, but it will still map directly to the original stage in the Reporting pipeline.

It is not possible to move or reorder stages in your custom pipelines. If you need to make significant updates to your pipelines, contact us.

Deactivating a pipeline

If you won't be using a pipeline any more you can deactivate it from the Recruiting Preferences section of your account. Locate the pipeline and click Deactivate to the upper right of it.

Once the pipeline is deactivated it will not appear for selection when creating a job.

Deactivated pipelines will appear at the bottom of the pipeline list and can be reactivated at any time.
